I can vouch for Barter Books, and if any dog-owners are visiting Alnwick, Barter Books are very dog-friendly : there are doggy water bowls at various points in the old station. Flynn likes to curl up in front of the fire if we go in winter.

Oh Kathleen - that wonderful fire - and the model railway track running overhead! Absolute magic and has to be one of my favourite places to visit! Oh - mustn't foget the Ella Fitzgerald CD's!

Hi Lyn

Re the Lost Daughter - I would give it another go, at first you wonder where it's going, but once you get into it, it's enthralling. I bought it and wome others from Amazon, and I read the reviews before I bought them. The other one I bought was the Red Velvet Turnshoe, but I found that a bit harder to follow. I think I lost the plot along the way!
